10 Healthy Snack Ideas Perfect For A Library Session
Everybody needs a cheeky snack now and then to get through a library sesh with their pals – right?
But what happens when one pringle becomes a whole tub, or a quick lunch becomes 10 slices of pizza?
Granted, “snacks” can often turn into low-key banquets when you’re having a hardcore study sesh, which can sometimes end up being a little unhealthy.
That’s why we’ve come up with 10 healthy snack ideas that are perfect for a library session, and you can easily prepare them in your student accommodation!
Let’s take a look at some yummy options for inspo.
1. Carrots & Hummus
Coming in at number one for our healthy snack ideas is carrots & hummus, an absolute classic tbh!
The best part? This yummy snack is pretty inexpensive, and perfect if you’ve got a few leftover carrots hanging around in your fridge.
You can either make your very own hummus and go all #fancy, or pop to your local supermarket and get some!
Just make sure that you don’t let the hummus get too warm in your bag, it doesn’t have the same yummy taste when that happens.
Be sure to chop your carrot up into small finger-sized pieces, unless you want to eat it whole like bugs bunny!
2. Dark Chocolate
You ever thought to get a bar of dark choccy and keep it in your bag for emergencies? Another one of our fab healthy snack ideas!
Granted, dark chocolate may take a bit of getting used to, but it’s actually quite a lot healthier for you than milk or white.
Did you know? Dark Chocolate is loaded with nutrients and can lower your risk of heart disease – wowzers.
Whenever you’re having a stressful time in the library, be sure to take a bite of your emergency chocolate to cool down!
3. Mixed Nuts
You either love them or hate them, but mixed nuts are another one of our healthy snack ideas perfect for the library.
Did we mention this high-fibre treat is actually pretty good for you? So, put the pringles down peeps.
If you’re not a fan of nuts, don’t worry, there are plenty of alternatives you can put in your bag, like pretzels or popcorn!
4. Apple & Peanut Butter
This particular snack is loaded with nutrients, and perfect for a long library sesh with your pals.
Both apples and peanuts have nutrients that promote heart health and lower blood sugar levels, another reason to grab the winning combo!
We’d recommend slicing up some apple and wrapping it in some foil or putting it in a Tupperware, along with some peanut butter.
5. Fruit
This leads us to our next choice of healthy snack ideas – a bit of fruit!
Obviously, this might not work for super long periods of time in the library, because you don’t want your fruit going warm.
But a yummy fruit selection is a great option for a healthy snack, it’s super refreshing too.
You can make your own fruit salad with your favourite fruits, or simply bring a few apples/bananas/oranges if you want something simple.
FYI – certain fruits such as oranges, kiwis, and strawberries are extra good for your brain, so be sure to stack up on those.
6. Tortilla Chips
Ever thought to make your own tortilla chips? Here’s another one of our great healthy snack ideas – a great alternative to crisps!
To make these, you’ll need some tortillas that have been left out to dry a tad, and then you just need to cut them into 6 triangle-shaped wedges.
Heat a little oil in a pan (or Frylight if you want to be extra healthy) and fry your tortilla chips!
Let them dry off on some kitchen roll, and you can add a bit of salt for seasoning if you want to push the boat out.
There are plenty of other ways to make your tortilla chips including baking and microwaving them, click here to find out more!

It’s basically a mixture of nuts, seeds, dried fruit, and fun stuff (like popcorn or choccy.)
So, why not have a go at making your own, or just pop to your nearest supermarket if you’re feeling lazy!
(P.S, if you like Bombay mix, M&S do an amaaaazing one.)
