Valeo USL is deeply sorry that the fire in the Cube building it operates in Bolton has displaced all of the 221 students that were resident in the building and is of course concerned about the distress and disruption that the blaze has caused to the lives of those students.
If you are one of those students who were resident in the Cube, we hope that you are happy with the temporary accommodation that we, working together with the university, have arranged for you. Please do contact us on email@example.com if you have any questions or concerns. Students requiring immediate assistance with items such as; clothing, food, drink and money should attend the Social Learning Zone (SLZ) located in; Block 10, Chancellors Mall, Deane Road, Bolton, BL3 5AB.
In terms of next steps for residents, there is a potential that some will be able to return and occupy rooms once the fire services have completed their investigations and are satisfied the room is safe. The earliest this will be is Monday 18th November – Valeo USL will be contacting students over the coming days with specific information for each student.
Valeo USL’s first priority has been for the safety and security of the students who were resident in the building and Valeo USL’s on the ground team led the evacuation of the students and assisted the fire and rescue services throughout the night and today. Thankfully it appears that the prompt response of our staff and the amazing work of the emergency services has meant that the residents have remained safe. The focus of our on-site team and central support teams, who have worked around the clock to help co-ordinate the response to the blaze, working together with the emergency services and the University, is now on the ongoing welfare and accommodation of the Cube residents.
Valeo USL is continuing to work together with the great welfare and accommodation teams at the University to rehouse students and help them put this upsetting incident behind them.
Valeo USL is also actively assisting the emergency services with their investigations into the blaze and is committed to help with any investigations and looks forward to understanding the outcome of those investigations and any lessons that can be learnt.
Valeo USL acts as Property Manager at the Cube letting the rooms in the building and looking after the day to day welfare of the residents. Valeo USL manages the Cube for the leaseholders and the Landlord of the site is Idealsite Ltd. Valeo USL was not responsible for the construction of or subsequent amendments to the construction of the Cube buildings.
